Lindemann Trust Fellowship
Following a bequest of £1,000,000 from Lionel Lindemann, the ESU has administered the ESU Lindemann Trust Fellowships since March 1972. The Fellowships are awarded to graduates of exceptional promise in both the pure and applied physical sciences who have shown capacity for producing original research. A Lindemann Fellowship allows for post-doctoral research to be carried out in the USA for a period of one year. Fields of research include Astronomy, Biophysics, Chemistry, Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Mathematics and Physics. Candidacy is open to UK and Commonwealth citizens who graduated from a UK University before September 2005. Candidacy is also open to UK and Commonwealth citizens who are currently pursuing postgraduate research at a UK university although not graduates of these institutions. Fellows receive $30,000 each.
