The grant for up to £1800 allows a clergyman or woman to undertake a tour of the USA for approximately four weeks. The award enables clergy of all denominations to spend that time touring the USA with the aim of fostering understanding and the exchange of ideas. Recent scholars have explored pastoral care and ecumenical links.

The Grant aims to foster understanding and the exchange of ideas between clergy of all denominations, in this country and in the USA. The award is offered to a member of the Episcopalian, Roman Catholic and Free Churches.

2010 Grant

The 2010 American Memorial Chapel Travel Grant has been awarded to The Reverend David de Verny from Swineshead, near Boston, Lincolnshire. David will be researching migrant workers and how the different churches and denominations reach out to them within their communities.

2009 Grant

The panel were so impressed with the candidates for the 2009 American Memorial Chapel Travel Grant that it has been split between two scholars. Reverend Mandy Ford from the Church of Christ the King, Leicester and Reverend Gerard O'Shaughnessy from St James' Church, Bootle have both travelled to the States to study their chosen topics. Both reports are below.
