Nurse Work Programme

Nurse Work Shadow Programme 2008

Description

Florinella Citu at Great Western Hospital

Salisbury Branch once again welcomed a Nurse to the Great Western Hospital Swindon in May of this year. She was Florinella Citu from Romania.  Florinella trained at the main hospital in Constanta, Romania and has been in practice with a Doctor for the past five years. A special programme was prepared for her and during her time at the Great Western Hospital she worked in wards including Infection Control, Resuscitation, Emergency Admission and Care of the Elderly. Florinella was appreciated by all those she helped and received her Hospital Certificate at the end of the programme. During her time in England, she addressed ESU Salisbury and ESU Bristol and has given seven lectures since returning to Romania.

We sincerely thank once again the Great Western Hospital for her programme and accommodation and ESU Bristol Branch, Metropolitan Essex Branch (Epping) for their sponsorship of this nurse.

Salisbury Branch welcomed Anna Luiza Gryschek to the Great Western Hospital Swindon in May 2007. Anna is a graduate nurse from the University of San Paulo Nursing School Brazil. Her special qualification is in the field of Community health dealing especially with Aids and HIV. A special programme was prepared for her which included a day with Professor Rachel at the Oxford Brooks University Hospital and a special meeting with the co-ordinator of the Terance Higgings Trust, as well as work in the hospital with her English colleagues. She also came down to Salisbury Branch to meet the Members and have lunch with us. We have received a charming letter from Anna: "Please tell Salisbury Branch and all who have supported me this has been a wonderful opportunity and I shall never, never forget it. It has truly been priceless". Salisbury Branch wish to thank Metropolitan Essex, Bristol, and Exeter branch for their continued support; Dartmouth House for her weekend in London, and especially the NHS Great Weston Hospital Swindon for their invaluable co-operation with the ESU Nurse Work Programme the charity the Hospital has committed to support.
