English in Action in Schools

English in Action in Schools is a voluntary programme that provides support to primary school children who do not have English as a first language. Through games, songs, conversation and other activities, volunteers work in pairs spending an hour each week with a small group of children. EIAS aims to improve the children’s fluency and confidence. The informal style of the sessions means that the experience is rewarding and fun for the children and the volunteers.
The programme runs in schools across London, although recruitment of new schools is currently focused in the borough of Westminster. If your school would be interested in taking part, or if you would like to become a volunteer, please get in touch.
