Experience English
An exciting new partnership between The Helen Bamber Foundation and The English-Speaking Union offers native English speakers a unique opportunity. Gross human rights violations occur through out the world with sobering regularity, creating new victims at an alarming rate. The root causes – war, oppression, persecution, poverty, to name but a few – are well known but finding durable solutions remains as elusive as ever. The Helen Bamber Foundation is committed to providing its service to those survivors in need of care. The English-Speaking Union is committed to creating international understanding through English at a time when English has become the working language of the global village. Its charitable and educational purpose is clear with an increasing focus on the challenge of social exclusion in Britain and elsewhere. This partnership will focus on creating a programme that will satisfy the aims of both organisations by providing conversational support to refugees and asylum seekers in order to help facilitate the transition to life in London. Both The Helen Bamber Foundation and The ESU are keen to start working with volunteers across the capital.
